Bringing back the Old School Barbershop Experience

Fade Academy’s goal is to provide quality hands-on men’s haircut and grooming training in a creative environment dedicated to “making dreams come true.” Our Mentors believe in bringing back the Old School Barbershop experience. Through high-quality service, education, professionalism, and purpose. 

About Us

Dedicated Mentors

As a Business Owner of Tommy Guns Barbershops (Guildford Mall, South Surrey and Langley), Scott Thong has the experience, knowledge and skills to mentor students. Scott has over 15 years of experience in the men’s grooming industry, where he specializes in men’s haircuts, barbering, shaving and cosmetology.

First-Rate Curriculum

Our barbering, men's haircuts and facial grooming courses allow our students to work in a classroom environment yet we also offer “on the job” training in our barbershops. Students will be shown techniques that will allow them to build their confidence to meet the needs of their guests.


Mentors will be there to guide the students so they feel supported throughout their journey with Fade Academy. Strategically the courses will be in small groups to ensure all students are receiving the needed one-on-one time from the mentor on live models and mannequins. The focus will not only be on technique and quality for all men’s grooming needs which includes but is not limited to all types of men’s cuts (Fades, Crew cuts, Pompadour, just to name a few), beard trims, straight razor head and face shaves. But also the art of consultation, barbering business, barber ethics, professionalism and life experiences. The entire guest journey will be captured which will enable the students to feel confident and ready upon completion of the course.
